We are starting a fun, new game at our in-person events. It's called, What's the next line?
How does it work? We post a writing prompt; you read it and add the next line on a sticky note. The next person comes along and reads the writing prompt and what you wrote, and they add the next line on another sticky note. This continues through the event and at the next event we start over with a new prompt.
I am going to start adding them in this blog. The fun part is that you get to add to what others have started.
Our first event was Spring into Spartanburg on Saturday, March 29th. Here's the story prompt with the next lines that others added:
The stream flowed over the rocks and plunged over the edge to the pond below. Fee flew through the misty rainbow and around the water to enter the portal. She landed on the asphalt and her purple wings disappeared. Fee stood there scanning the new land. It was nothing like the fairy realm that she was accustomed to.
Initially Fee was scared but a butterfly flew by and welcomed her to the new land. Fee smiled and asked the butterfly her name and they became friends. Later, Fee found a safe place and the butterfly made sure she had food sprinkles of course.
The blaring of horns and towering skyscrapers were intimidating for a young fairy like Fee. As she drew in a deep breath and looked down at the map in her hands her senses sharpened. She knew she had to focus if she was going to bring flutter back to Zeeland.
As she brushed herself off she then realized the portal had shut. She is now trapped in a mystical forest ready to be explored.
